One day while I was watching my baby girl, she was crying.

When I carried her, she suddenly stopped crying and started laughing.

I get surprised how she managed to change her emotion this fast!

So, I decided to do a test – I put her back on the ground.

She directly started to cry again – with tears-.

I then carried her, she started to laugh again as if nothing happened a few seconds ago!

From this simple experiment, I realized one of the important concepts in Emotional Intelligence

I have learned from the baby how to forget the past

Even if it was seconds ago, it is also past.

don't stuck on the past

So, why lose the benefit of the present because something has already gone!

I can control the present but I cannot control the past.

So, why am I stuck in a place that I cannot control and neglect the place that I can control?!

I told myself: “If I don’t have time to improve myself, I don’t deserve to seek greatness”.

To manage and control my past emotions and prevent them affect negatively on my present emotions, I need first to have more info about Emotional Intelligence.

To do so, I simply searched for the concept of “Emotional Intelligence”. Just like that!

Surprisingly, found a book with the same exact name by an author his name is Daniel Golman

This book was a life-changer for me.

If you don’t want to read it, at least listen to it.

keep the lessons from the past not the bad emotions

It may be not easy to forget the past, but it is worth it at least forgetting the negative emotion of the past.

Past is important to use the lessons that I gained from it in my present and in my future. But I need to make sure this is the only purpose of it. The past should not replace the present.

Its role is only to give me lessons not to control my present and affect my future.

Conclusion

If babies can do that, we can do that also.

Our slogan from now on should be:
I am not a slave of the past, I am the king of the present”.
